Everything is a balancing act. On the one hand, we need to be able to look closely at what we do, on a microscopic level. On the other hand, we need to remember to take a step back and take in the object of our attention as a whole.
However, finding the balance and switching between the lenses is not necessarily obvious or easy.
In this video, I try to remind myself that finding the balance is more important than pure technical proficiency and ultra-focus on details. And exploring the idea that there are multiple layers of music appreciation, which we are able to learn throughout our lives and are not necessarily born with.
